Hi. This is Pieter Friedrich, and I’m starting my second day on hunger-strike to protest Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s donation of $2.5 million to Sewa International USA, a group that is linked to the RSS, which is a violent Hindu nationalist paramilitary in India.

It has now been over 24 hours since I last ate. I am consuming nothing but water, tea, and coffee. My demand is simple: Take It Back, Jack.

The RSS is the mother organization in a massive network of affiliated groups known collectively as the Sangh Parivar. This includes its welfare wing, Sewa Bharati, which produced Sewa International. It also includes the HSS, which is the international wing of the RSS.

Sewa International USA is run by this man, Ramesh Bhutada, who is the vice-president of HSS-USA.

You can see him here, ten years ago in India, attending an HSS/RSS summit while wearing an RSS uniform.

You can also see him here, in Houston, Texas, working to get Narendra Modi — an RSS member — elected as prime minister of India.

Modi has been widely blamed for causing the current COVID crisis in India, and yet, when choosing a charity to support in the struggle against COVID, Twitter’s Jack Dorsey inexplicably settled on one run by political activists for Modi.

He has failed to even acknowledge the controversy of his donation.

So I’m hunger-striking in protest.

How can you help me right now? Like and share this video. Sign the petition. And spread the hashtag: #TakeItBackJack.

Together, we will be heard.
