Perhaps widespread testing and asking for help from friends — like the US, whose president just visited and struck an arms deal with India — could go a long way to dealing with the problem while avoiding the militarism of locking down the whole country. It’s a difficult issue. As you noted, there are serious considerations for those who don’t have the privilege to do the “social distancing” thing. Yet, certainly, a response is needed.
